The Monster Route

  • Start Point: Somers on the North Shore

  • Way Point #1: Town of Lakeside (4 miles)

  • Way Point #2: West Shore Park (8 miles)

  • Way Point #3: Rollins (13 miles)

  • Way Point #4: Wild Horse Island (17 miles)

  • Way Point #5: The Narrows (23 miles)

  • Way Point #6: Polson Bay (26 miles)

  • Finish: Flathead River Bridge (28 miles)

TO BEGIN YOUR MISSION

  • Create your account and sign up at MyVirtualMission.com: Taming The Monster.  The entry fee is only $10!

  • Add your workout mileage manually to the app OR...Link your wearable device to STRAVA.

  • Link STRAVA to your MyVirtualMission account.

  • Start swimming and watch your progress along the 28-mile course.

RULES

  1. Swims should be safe AND must be open for swimming by local authorities. Please adhere to social distancing.

  2. Open water OR pool swims count.

  3. Distances may be uploaded manually or directly from a smart watch application. The honor system is in place.

  4. The event starts on November 1st, 2020.

  5. You have until December 31st, 2020 to complete the mission.

  6. Category I and Category II swimwear are encouraged. Tow floats and toys (fins, paddles, etc.) are allowed.

ELIGIBILITY

ALL Swimmers are encouraged to participate.  There are no age-groups or other designations.

LEADERBOARD

There is a Leaderboard function built into the app, so you will be able to see how everyone is progressing.

CERTIFICATES & AWARDS

Certificates of achievement will be e-mailed at the conclusion of the event.

FEES & DEADLINES

$10 entry fee.

ADDITIONAL DONATIONS

It is 100% up to you, but this event is associated with The Flathead Lakers, a 501c-3 with the mission of protecting the Flathead Lake watershed.  Please consider an extra donation for a good cause.
